Dragon Theatre Rental Fees and Policies
The Dragon Theatre is a 42-seat 25ft.x25ft. black box theatre with a 13 ft. ceiling height.
For classes, rehearsals, or events, either the performance area or the studio area can be rented for $25/hour (2 hour min. with few exceptions*).
*For individual hourly rentals of 2 hours or less, the renter will be asked to pay the entire amount upon signing the contract to reserve the space.
For performances (with audiences), the theatre can be rented for $250/night (4 hour block). The use of the theatre’s lights, dressing room, and all other amenities specified in the contract agreement, are included in the fee.
For class/rehearsal rentals involving more than one day, a deposit of 1/2 the total rental fee will be due upon signing the contract to reserve the space. The balance will then be paid - 1/4 due 2 weeks prior to the first day of use, with the remaining 1/4 due on final date of rental.
The renter must upon signing the agreement, also submit a security deposit of $200, which will be reimbursed in accordance with successful completion of the terms of the agreement, if not used for cleaning or repairs. This should be a separate check that will not be deposited.

Please take a look at the rental rates menu, have a clear idea of when you are interested in renting & perhaps a 2nd or 3rd choice for your dates/times before contacting us, & then take a look at photos of the facility on our website to make sure The Dragon Theatre is right for you. *If you are interested in renting the Dragon Theatre, please see our rental information page & submit a completed rental request form to Lessa at least 7 business days prior to the date you are interested in. First time renters, please submit the rental request form 14 days prior to rentalRemember that you will need to provide a temporary liability insurance coverage policy to rent the theatre, so you will want to give yourself time for that to process. Then, please contact us for availability & to request a tour. Rental coordinator: lessa@dragonproductions.net
In deciding usage for the theatre, Dragon’s first priority is having space available for rehearsals of its own shows. Dragon’s second priority is its Studio classes. We make space available for outside rentals when our rehearsal and class schedule permit. As the theatre’s schedule solidifies, some specific days may be set aside for outside rentals. At this time, it is a “first-come, first-served” policy.
The Dragon Theatre is a "shared usage facility". We have a very busy space with things going on all the time. When renting the facility, you are informed if other activities will be going on in during your rental time, either while you are in the facility (classes or rehearsals only - a group could be in the studio while your group is utilizing the stage) or while you might have a set on the stage, but not currently utilizing the space (we do not double-up for performaces -either Dragon's or oustide renter's). All renters are informed of all conflicts in writing.
Cancellation (subsequent to signing a contract) of any or all of the reserved dates with a less than 30 day written notice to Dragon Productions shall result in the forfeiture of the rental deposit plus, any monies already submitted for rental reservation. If the renter notifies Dragon Productions of a cancellation more than 30 days prior to the first reserved date, the rental deposit & 1/2 installment will be returned in full. If the space is rented for a private coaching session of 2 hours or less, and the student cancels at the last minute, the student should be held responsible for the rental fee – unless there is an emergency. In case of an emergency, rescheduling may be made possible without loss of monies already submitted on a case-by-case basis. If booking time 6 months prior or earlier, & cancellation occurs for any reason, the deposit & 1st installment will be forfeited. There is a benefit to securing dates way in advance, as we can be more flexible with your chosen dates & work Dragon's schedule around your preferences. The early-bird catches the worm, but you should be sure you are ready to commit.
We've recently had a policy change & have received addition liability coverage insurance for all outside rentals. It is no longer mandatory that groups provide their own temporary or special event liability insruance. However, it is important that all groups know that they are renting the facility at their own risk & Dragon will be held harmless for any & all incidents occuring due to the activities or negligence of the rental group. This policy is noted in all rental agreements signed by both parties before the commitment is made. Any further questions on this issue can be addressed with Lessa Bouchard, rental coordinator @ lessa@dragonproductions.net
All outside renters will be either let into the building or given the key. Arrangements will be made upon contract signing.
All outside renters will be responsible for items in the theatre and the placement of these items. After using the facility, the renter must leave the theatre as neat (or neater) than it was found upon arrival. This involved striking of all items brought into the facility by the renter as well as cleaning up & removing all trash aquired in the receptacles during the stay of the rental group. Special arrangements can be made for deliveries, etc. upon contract signing.
