 As Bees in Honey Drown

by:  Douglas Carter Beane

Part Dynasty, part traditional moral play, As Bees In Honey Drown is one of those rare plays that is a dream for all involved. It has one of the best contemporary roles for a woman in Alexa Vere deVere, a flamboyant whirlwind of a socialite who pulls everything around her into her fast paced, high-roller lifestyle. All of the artists involved are challenged to create a complete world with just a few actors and minimal set.  Audiences will appreciate the grand comedy leading up to a classic battle between good and evil. It's about as much fun that can be had watching depravity, gluttony, sin, the destruction of lives and revenge.
