Storytime Series
In an effort to reach younger audiences and build an educational outreach program, Dragon Productions presents a Storytime Series that would specifically cater to young children and their families. Our goal is to spark creative interest in theatre as an educational tool to aid positively in a child’s development by incorporating music, as well as having the children participate in songs, both vocally and with musical instruments. Dragon’s Storytime is different from the storytelling sessions that may occur at bookstores or libraries in that its goal is to bring to life the action of the text and inspire its young audiences to participate in the imaginary circumstances by creating an environment where the stories on the page become a physical script to act out and fully embrace. This will not only encourage an interest in reading, but a passion for verbal communication, artistic expression, musical enjoyment, and human interaction. Dragon is also determined that this program reach lower income and disadvantaged families as a way to provide an artistic opportunity to those who may not have as many resources to engage in similar activities.
Dragon Productions ongoing Storytime Series was made possible by a grant from the John and Marcia Goldman Foundation in an effort to reach younger audiences and build an educational outreach program.
