Join us as we celebrate the creativity and talent of Bay Area playwrights! We read more than forty scripts and picked new, original scripts by three local writers. Now Dragon Productions Theatre Company is hosting three weekends of staged readings of these scripts. After each performance, the writer is on hand to host a question and answer session with the audience to get feedback on the script. Over the next few days the scripts are all rewritten for the next weekend's performance. Come get a peek at what goes into making a new theatre script ready for performance!
The festival runs May 24th - June 9th. Single tickets and full festival flex passes are now on sale!
Almost Happy by Jacob Marx Rice
directed by Cara Phipps
performances: May 24th, June 2nd (matinee), June 8th
Naomi loves Aaron. Aaron loves Tess. Tess loves sex. With women. Almost Happy follows three young people as they struggle to understand themselves and each other in the age of Occupy Wall Street, changing sexual practices and a generation struggling to find its place. This darkly comic play explores what it means to "grow up" in the modern world, and the damage we cause in the process.

The Killing Jar by Jennifer Lynne Roberts
directed by Heather Noelle Robinson
performances: May 26th (matinee), June 1st, June 7th
Ava, a painter and curator, arrives in the Philippines to convince artist Jefford Huso to exhibit at the 1964 New York World's Fair. A great admirer of his work, she is also hoping for an apprenticeship during her time at his studio outside Manila. But her desire for a mentor, his addiction to alcohol and women jeopardize the show and Ava's career, which hinges on this rare opportunity in a male dominated field.
Sexbot 2600 by Jake Arky
directed by Jeffrey Lo
performances: May 25th, May 31st, June 9th (matinee)
Hazard Games is about to launch a gaming experience that is a virtual wet dream come true: Sexbot 2600 is sexy, seductive, and ready to play. At least, that's how she is supposed to work when she's not full of bugs, defending herself against players, and falling in love with the geeky quality assurance girl whose job it is to fix this lusty avatar.
